「顧客層」を英語で？

TheJapanTimesの記事"Running with the ramen hunters"に以下の一文がありました。

"Although ramen has near-universal appeal, there’s one constituency you’ll never find aslurp at your local noodle shop: vegetarians."
「ラーメンは万能に近い魅力を持っているが、下町のラーメン屋で麺をすすらない顧客層がひとつある。ベジタリアンだ」

Longmanのサイトでは"constituency"は以下のように説明されています。
1　British English an area of a country that elects a representative to a parliament:
「議会の代表を選ぶ地域」
2 [also + plural verb British English] the people who live and vote in a particular area
「特定の地域で生活し、投票する人々」
3 any group that supports or is likely to support a politician or a political party:
