「本物」を英語で？

楽天の田中投手がLosAngelsTimesの記事で話題になっていました。
その中に以下の一文がありました。

"He has three good pitches, and his splitter is a legitimate out pitch."
「彼は三種類の良い球種を持っている。彼のスプリットは本物の決め球だ」

"legitimate"は、「法に準じた」、「常識的な」、「理にかなった」、「正式な」などの意味があります。
でも、アメリカのテレビドラマなんかを見ていると"leigt"という省略形で「マジだ」みたいな感じで使われているのを耳にします。

記事の内容ですが、
エンジェルスのスカウトが田中投手の試合を見に行ったとのことです。
スカウトによれば、ダルビッシュ投手ほどではないが黒田投手と同じくらいの評価だそうです。
