The New York Timesの記事"Getting Japan to Spend"の中に以下の一文がありました。

"Nobuko Kido, 61, and Ikuko Hatanaka, 60, both full-time homemakers, said that the recent positive media coverage of the economy alone made them less guilty about splurging at the department store."

「二人共に専業主婦である、ノブコ・キド、６１歳とイクコ・ハタナカ、６０歳はこう言った。『最近の明るい景気を伝えるメディアだけでも、デパートでの買い物に対しての罪悪感が減る』」
