TheNewYorkTimesのPaul Krugmanによるコラム"Why Inequality Matters"の中に以下の一文がありました。

"It’s now widely accepted that rising household debt helped set the stage for our economic crisis; this debt surge coincided with rising inequality, and the two are probably related (although the case isn’t ironclad)."
「一般家庭の借金が増えることで経済危機の舞台を整えることになるということは、今では広く受け入れられている。この借金の急増は格差と同時に発生しており、そして２つは関係している。（この問題は疑いの余地がないというわけではないけれど）」
