「よじ登る」を英語で言うと？

Oxford Dictionaryのサイト検索すると、まずこのように説明されています。
1 [no object, with adverbial of direction] make one’s way quickly or awkwardly up a steep gradient or over rough ground by using one’s hands as well as one’s feet:

The Japan Timesの記事"Lake Shikotsu: a Hokkaido wonderland awaits"では以下のように使われていました。

Scramblingというのは登山用語のようで、Wikipediaの説明を読むと、特別な登山用具は必要としないけれども、ロープなどの補助を使う登山を意味するようです。
