"sampler"は「試食する人」、”platter”は「大きなお皿」の意味で、"a sampler pkatter"を直訳すると「試食する人のお皿」という感じでしょうか。Matthewさんはコメディアンでもあるせいか韻を踏んだ表現をしていますが、この"a sampler platter"あまり一般的な表現ではないと思います。
もっとシンプルな言い方だと"tasting menu "、気取った言い方だとフランス語で"tasting menu"を意味する"degustation menu"などが日本の「お試しセット」を表す表現として使われます。

”a fixed-price restaurant meal or menu consisting of small portions of numerous dishes.”
