pander

pander to somebody/something
= to give someone anything they want in order to please them, even if it seems unreasonable or unnecessary - used to show disapproval

日本語にすると「媚を売る」みたいな感覚で使われると思います。

e.g.Some newspapers feel they have to pander to the prejudices of their readers.
訳「読者の偏見に対して媚を売る必要をいくつかの新聞社か感じている」。

The Japan Timesの記事ではこのように使われていました。
